Idris Elba's wife has made him less of a "cynic" about marriage.

The 48-year-old actor was previously wed to Kim Norgaard and Sonya Hamlin but had negative ideas about the institution until the "pure love and intention of heart" shown by Sabrina Dhowre - who he tied the knot with in 2019 after two years of dating - made him have second thoughts.
He gushed: "I love that - although I was once a cynic about marriage - through pure love and intention of heart, Sabrina helped me change my perspective."
The couple feel they have made one another stronger.
Sabrina told Newsweek: "Marriage takes work, which inevitably means it takes time.
"[I appreciate] that Idris challenges me to grow as a person and as a businesswoman. [He] taught me how to dream big."
Idris agreed and added: "I have someone who I can look into her eyes and say 'Wow, we did it.' "
The couple's new podcast, 'Coupledom', sees them interview various partnerships including ice cream gurus Ben & Jerry, Kris Jenner and her daughter Kim Kardashian West, Christian Louboutin and Mika, and Nadiya and Abdal Hussain.
The idea stemmed from conversations around their own relationship when they decided to get married.
Idris said: "We chose to interview duos that could speak to partnerships that have inspired us with their journeys. Our guests come from all walks of life because we want to expand coupledom to include more than just romantic partnerships.
"The conversations we have on the podcast are meant to stimulate and enlighten the community we're building, in hopes that they leave with something they can apply to their own lives...
"When I asked Sabrina to be my wife. I was fascinated with the conversations that started up around our own relationship and found myself talking with friends about what makes us work."
