Hugh Laurie has wished Stephen Fry "love and happiness" after he married Elliot Spencer on Saturday (17.01.15).
Former 'Blackadder' co-star Hugh Laurie has wished Stephen Fry "love and happiness" following news of his marriage to writer Elliot Spencer.
The 57-year-old comedian and his 27-year-old partner announced news of their marriage via Twitter and Hugh - Stephen's long-time friend and collaborator - was among the first to offer his congratulations.
He tweeted: "Bloody hell it's happened! @ElliottGSpencer has made an honest man of m'col. Love and happiness to all!! (sic)"
Stephen - who only confirmed the news of their engagement a couple of weeks ago - also revealed that the ceremony was witnessed by a miniature version of Oscar Wilde, the Irish writer and poet.
After announcing their marriage, Stephen tweeted: "Oh and @ElliottGSpencer and I had our vows witnessed by a mini Oscar Wilde. Because one should. #greencarnations"
Stephen - who's enjoyed a successful TV and film career - previously joked that he was hoping for a "private wedding".
But around the time news of the wedding was leaked, he wrote on the social media site: "Oh. It looks as though a certain cat is out of a certain bag. I'm very very happy of course but had hoped for a private wedding. Fat chance!
"Thank you all SO much for your kind congratulations. Deeply touched xxx (sic)"
