Hugh Jackman enjoys meditating with his children.
The 'Wolverine' star, who has a son, Oscar, 13, and daughter, Ava, 9, with his wife Deborra-Lee Furness, claims sitting in a room quietly together on a regular basis has changed their lives.
The 45-year-old Australian star told UsMagazine.com: "I said [to one our our teachers] what do we do with the kids if we want to mediate? He said, 'Just be quiet in the house and tell the kids they don't have to mediate' -- they were young. But say, 'There's no TV, there's no talking, you can read, do whatever you want.' And what we found is we would meditate."
He added: "We got used to a quiet time together in the house. Now they're sort of naturally getting into it. Meditation has changed our lives."
Deborra added: "They just sit in a room with us. They loved it . . . They would be upset when the time ended. They sit there, they'd draw. They knew that they had to be quiet, but it made us all be together without using words or anything. But energetically we were all together sitting comfortably in our truth which is what this meditation is."
Hugh made his first red carpet appearance the David Lynch Foundation Presents: Change Begins Within Benefit Gala in New York City on Tuesday (03.12.13), since revealing on Instagram last month that he underwent treatment for skin cancer on his nose, and wore a small Band-Aid over the area.
