Hilaria Baldwin is teaching her children to be bilingual.
The 36-year-old author and media personality - who has Eduardo, two months, Romeo, two, Leonardo, four, Rafael, five and Carmen, seven, with her husband Alec Baldwin - feels it is important her children understand and embrace her Spanish heritage too and so is teaching them to speak both English and Spanish like she does.
She wrote on social media: "A bit about me. I’ve seen chatter online questioning my identity and culture. This is something I take very seriously, and for those who are asking - I’ll reiterate my story, as I’ve done many times before. I was born in Boston and grew up spending time with my family between Massachusetts and Spain. My parents and sibling live in Spain and I chose to live here, in the USA. We celebrate both cultures in our home - Alec and I are raising our children bilingual, just as I was raised. This is very important to me.
"I understand that my story is a little different, but it is mine, and I’m very proud of it."
Hilaria and Alec are both content with their family of seven, they could still be swayed into having another child by their brood, who all want to know when the next sibling is arriving.
She shared: "My kids are used to new siblings coming in, so they're already like, 'When is the next one going to come?' And I'm like, 'Guys, you and the entire world need to stop asking me that!' They've been really great, though. They love [Edu].
"They love babies. It’s actually really amazing to watch them because I know that they're going to be the kind of adults who are really good with kids because they just know so much."
