Henry Cavill believes Daniel Craig was the "right choice" to play James Bond over him.
The 'Man of Steel' actor was upset at missing out on the part after getting down to the final audition but admits 45-year-old Daniel - who has portrayed the iconic charter in 'Casino Royale', 'Quantum of Solace' and 'Skyfall' - has been "fantastic" in the role.
He told Nuts magazine: "When I wasn't selected for Bond, I was very disappointed.
"I'd turned down a leading role in '300' because it was down to Daniel Craig and me, and auditioning for Bond took all my focus.
"The choice was between a younger Bond and one closer to his 40s, which is to say, Daniel Craig.
"But I've seen what Daniel did and I think the Bond producers made the right choice. He's fantastic."
Henry has since landed the role of Superman - a part he missed out on when he auditioned for the 2006 movie 'Superman Returns' - for 'Man of Steel', and is hoping he can afford to be more selective when it comes to future film parts.
When asked if he sees his life changing since taking on the part, he added: "Hopefully, a bigger profile and more opportunities for work.
"The thing is, people believe that actors are able to choose their roles, but most of the time we're just taking the jobs we can get.
"Now I potentially get the luxury of choice - not every job's a good job."
