The 'Call the Midwife' actress - who is set to compete on the upcoming series of 'Strictly Come Dancing' - has confirmed she's split from her husband of nearly three years, Oliver Boot.

According to the Daily Mirror newspaper, Helen's spokesperson said: "I can confirm that Helen separated from her husband some time ago."

Helen and Oliver first met on the set of the BBC drama 'Hotel Babylon' - which came to an end in 2009 - but they didn't tie the knot until 2012.

And although the blonde beauty's representative claims the couple called time on their relationship a while ago, it's believed the "curse" of 'Strictly' has struck again.

Helen - who plays Trixie Franklin in the BBC One drama - has become the latest in a long line of celebrities who have split from their partners before, during or after their stints on BBC dance contest.

'Countdown' beauty Rachel Riley ended her marriage to university sweetheart Jamie Gilbert following her appearance on the show in 2013 and is now dating her professional dance partner Pasha Kovalev.

And retired sports stars Ben Cohen and Joe Calzaghe both ended their long-term relationships to romance their 'Strictly' partner Kristina Rihanoff.

Boxer Joe split from his girlfriend just one week into the show in 2008 and dated Kristina until 2013.

Meanwhile, former England rugby star Ben has been at the centre of controversy after his wife Abby claimed he cheated on her with Kristina following their partnership on the show in 2013.

However, the couple insist they only got together earlier this year, following his split from Abby - with whom he has twin daughters Harriette and Isabelle - last year.
