Heather Locklear is "doing really well" following her admission into rehab for treatment for her alcohol addiction.
The 56-year-old actress has been in a treatment centre for almost a month after she was arrested on suspicion of felony domestic battery and three counts of battery on a police officer, and sources now say the star - who was drunk at the time of her arrest - is sticking to her recovery plan.
Speaking about Heather - who no longer faces charges for allegedly hitting her boyfriend, Chris Heisser - a source told People magazine: "She is still there and she hasn't wanted to leave. She is planning on staying another month. Today, she is doing really well."
The 'Melrose Place' actress - who will still face charges for allegedly striking a police officer - checked into rehab in early March, and a friend of the star at the time said she was "in treatment for addiction" and "everyone hopes she gets well, that she gets better."
They added: "Addiction is obviously a strong disease and as much as friends and family who love her and want her to get better and be happy, no one can do the work for her. Hopefully she is getting the help she needs."
Heather's alleged outburst occurred in late February, when she was picked up by the police after they were called to a house in Thousand Oaks, California, following a report of domestic violence.
The officers had been called to the property by Heather's brother, after he arrived at the house and saw the star fighting with her partner.
When officers arrived, they noticed a visible mark on her boyfriend.
And when they tried to take Heather into custody, the actress is alleged to have kicked out and struck three deputies, which led to her being handcuffed and taken to hospital for evaluation.
