Harry Styles has won a court order preventing paparazzi from harassing him.

The One Direction hunk applied to the High Court in London in a bid to persuade a number of photographers to stop following him voluntarily, according to his lawyer David Sherborne.

David told the court: "This is not a privacy injunction. Mr Styles is not trying to prevent fans approaching him in the street and taking photos. He remains happy to do that, as he always has.

"Rather, it is the method or tactics which have been used by a certain type of photographer."

The injunction against the paparazzi prevents them from following the singer by car or motorcycle, placing him under surveillance and waiting within 50 metres of his home to take photographs of him.

David said during the hearing that the case concerned a number of photographers, and four of them are in the process of being identified after a request to the DVLA was made seeking the names and addresses of the vehicle owners.

The judge decided to continue with the injunction until another hearing, taking place in the second week of January, which will decide the final action.

The 19-year-old singer, who was in the UK for his band's 'X Factor' performance yesterday (15.12.13), wasn't present during the hearing.
