Harrison Ford hopes 'Star Wars: The Force Awakens' lives up to expectation.
The 73-year-old actor was reunited with his original co-star's Carrie Fisher and Mark Hamill at the Hollywood premiere of the forthcoming flick on Monday night (14.12.15), and Ford was particularly concerned with how the new movie will be received.
Speaking from the premiere at the TCL Chinese Theatre in Los Angeles, Ford reflected: "Well, in the '70s nobody knew what to anticipate.
"Nobody had ever seen anything like it. Now we have to live up to what the first films delivered."
Elsewhere, the movie's director J.J. Abrams was overwhelmed by the premiere and the hype surrounding the franchise and admitted he's never experienced anything like it before.
He told Starwars.com: "It's very surreal. I've never seen this kind of thing.
"It's insane. I feel enormously guilty for this community, this neighborhood."
And filmmaker Steven Spielberg also had a lot of praise for the movie franchise, and insists he knew it would continue to be a success.
He said:"It was a slow burn, but I knew it would never go away."
The star-studded premiere also saw new actors John Boyega, Daisy Ridley, Max von Sydow, Gwendolyn Christie walk the red carpet.
