Dominic Monaghan's first ever concert was seeing MC Hammer live.
The 'Lord of the Rings' star is surprisingly a big fan of the big-pants wearing 1980s rap star and it was 'Hammer Time' for Monaghan when his parents bought him a ticket to one of his shows and as a result he went on to come second in a competition performing Hammer's biggest ever hit 'U Can't Touch This' at school.
In an interview with NME magazine, he revealed: "He was a big deal. My mum and dad got me surprise tickets. I was tiny so I got to go up on my cousin's shoulders. I came second in a 'U Can't Touch This' dancing competition in school. The only reason I came second was because a really hard girl came first. No one wanted to say that she was worse than me."
The 40 -year-old actor also said that he would like to have comedy record Derek and Clive's 'Jump' - who were two comedic characters created by Dudley Moore (Derek) and Peter Cook (Clive) in the 1970s - which is based on one person convincing someone to jump out of a building to be played at his funeral.
Monaghan explained: "It's a song about a man who sees a guy about to jump out of a building. He tells him to do it because he has a blanket, but he doesn't and the guy jumps to his death. It's dark but also a fun song."
And Monaghan has revealed the first song he ever fell in love with was Chaka Khan's 'I Feel For You' - which was originally written and recorded by Prince - another one of his parents' recommendations.
Asked which song he loves the most, he answered: "My parents got my brother and me a single each for Christmas in 1984. He got 'Wild Boys' by Duran Duran and I got Chaka Khan's 'I Feel For You'.
"I didn't know what was going on when the record would scratch but I was obsessed by that noise. Prince became a massive deal for me in my teens, so knowing he wrote that was huge."
