Halle Berry was worried about exposing her body to the public earlier in her career, and she has always looked up to actors who are able to strip off without feeling self-conscious.
Halle Berry was always afraid of being naked on screen saying : "I always wanted to be the kind of actress that could be free with my body in that way, and not fear exposing myself or appearing naked on camera. I've always admired actresses - or actors - who are daring enough to risk themselves that way for their art ... But I was always afraid of that."
Halle took the role of Ginger Knowles in 2001's 'Swordfish' - in which she appeared topless - to overcome her fear and since then she has become more confident and accepted other parts which required nudity.
Her performance as an executed murderer's widow in 'Monster's Ball' - which contained a graphic sex scene with her co-star Billy Bob Thornton - won her the Best Actress Oscar.
Speaking about her role in 'Swordfish', she explained: "That's one of the reasons I did 'Swordfish.' Although it was very gratuitous, I had to do it to get over my fear of exposing myself. Had I not done 'Swordfish' I never would have been able to tackle 'Monster's Ball'. I would have been too scared of the nudity ... scared of what people might say ... scared of the backlash."
Pregnant Halle is has been filming scenes for forthcoming superhero film 'X-Men: Days of Future Past' and she admits it has been tricky shooting with a baby bump.
The Hollywood beauty - who is married to Olivier Martinez - said: "My ever-growing belly was posing a constant challenge! What I could do was getting more limited so the role that I play is so different from what it could have been, due to my surprise pregnancy."
Halle already has daughter Nahla, five, with her ex-partner Gabriel Aubry.
