Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin are still “really close”.
The former couple famously declared they were consciously uncoupling when they split in 2014 after almost a decade of marriage, and the ‘Politician’ star thinks their approach “really paid off” because it was as easy as possible for their children, Apple, 16, and 14-year-old Moses.
She said: “We uncoupled because we wanted to try to do it in a way that would be the least traumatic for the children. And it took a lot of work at the time, but I think it really paid off.
"My ex and I are really close. We remain a family even though we're not a couple and I think the children have managed to come through a divorce pretty OK. I'm sure I f***ed them up in other ways.
“And I think they appreciate that we are still a family and they love the closeness. My children are real family people whether it's us or our extended family.”
Gwyneth went on to marry Brad Falchuk in 2018 but they only moved in together last year as they wanted to make things easy for her kids and his two teenagers.
She explained in an interview: “For the first year, we decided to keep our separate residences and make the transition for the kids a little bit gentler because we have teenagers. It's actually worked out well.
“We now live together, which is really fun, but we tried to make the transition easy on the children. Of course, there are always complications but I think it's gone pretty well.
