Gwen Stefani has only had two boyfriends.

The 46-year-old singer - who dated her No Doubt bandmate Tony Kanal for seven years and is now romancing Blake Shelton following the breakdown of her 13-year marriage to Gavin Rossdale - insists she doesn't have a "type" because she hasn't dated enough people for there to be a pattern.

Asked if she has a type, she told K-Earth 101 FM: "You know I've only had two boyfriends, right?

"So I'm not like -- when you say that, it just sounds funny. It's just so limited. No, I do not [have a type]. That's a funny question. I'm gonna just stop right there."

Gwen - who has sons Kingston, nine, Zuma, seven, and Apollo, 23 months, with Gavin - also admitted she is embarrassed when people ask if her new single, 'Make Me Like You', is about Blake because it is so obvious.

She laughed: "I mean, come on! It's so easy. Honestly, it's so embarrassing when people ask me. My lyrics are so transparent, you know what I mean? I'm not trying to hide anything."

Gwen recently admitted she is proud the lyrics to her new album, 'This Is What the Truth Feels Like', have turned her divorce into "something beautiful".

She said: "What's so crazy is that sometimes tragedy, if you really absorb it, you can turn it into something beautiful.

"And this whole album is about trying to take something that's awful, and just, I don't know, healing from it and then turning it into something beautiful."
