Gwen Stefani hit "rock bottom" and felt "so embarrassed" following her divorce last year.

The 'Voice' star - who has three children with her ex-husband Gavin Rossdale including Kingston, nine, Zuma, six, and Apollo, two - split from the Bush rocker in August and has opened up about feeling the lowest she has ever felt in her life and finding herself suddenly single.

She shared: "During that time period, I felt like I was down all the way, like, you don't go down lower than that. It was rock bottom. I was so embarrassed, you know what I mean?"

Gwen previously revealed the reason the couple's split was "a really good, juicy story" though she would not go into detail about the circumstances.

But the 46-year-old beauty described feeling vulnerable throughout her ordeal, which was worsened by the fact nobody knew the pain she was going through.

She told on CBS show 'Sunday Morning': "(It was a) horrible, crazy explosion. At that time everything was like I had no skin, it was so raw. Nobody knew what was happening, and I had this big secret."
