Flo Rida owes almost $1.2 million in tax despite paying $1 million last year but claims he was swindled out of $170,000.
Flo Rida, real name Tramar Lacel Dillard, is behind on three payments from 2009, 2010 and 2011, but claims he was swindled out of $170,000 by a couple in a real estate scheme.
According to government files, he still owes $1,197,655.44 to the IRS, despite paying $1 million last year.
New court documents obtained by RadarOnline.com also claim he is owed $170,000 by married couple Pierre and Marie Malette, who "entered into a contract for the sale of their real estate however they did not execute the closing documents and kept the proceeds from the defunct sale".
The 34-year-old star is understood to have obtained a judgement against the pair for defrauding him and asked them to complete the purchase of the home in Florida or give him the money he is owed.
A source recently told TMZ: "Flo claims he handed over the money as a down payment, but the Malettes never signed over the house."
The allegations of unpaid taxes are not the only financial worries Flo has had to deal with in recent years.
He was sued over an outstanding bill for a home security system in 2012 and ordered to pay $432, 704 to the organisers of a music festival in Australia after he reportedly failed to show up.
