The 'Teen Mom OG' star - who is already a mother to six-year-old Sophia - is "very excited" at the thought of opening her home to a disadvantaged youngster.
She told Us Weekly magazine: "I'm happy to confirm I'm moving forward in my adoption process. This means I will be making some changes in my career to welcome a new addition to my family.
"Very excited and this feels so right. I'm very blessed for this opportunity."
And the 24-year-old reality star said Sophia - whose father, Derek Underwood, died in a car accident two months before she was born - is looking forward to being a big sister.
She told America's OK! magazine: "Sophia is in the right frame of mind and is very supportive as well.
"She is very open and accepting to understanding that someone else had other parents, and we would be their second parent and be a loving family to them."
In a recent trailer for 'Teen Mom OG', Farrah was seen branding her daughter "selfish" after she stuck out her tongue, hit her mother and threw paper.
Farrah told Sophia: Sometimes you're immature, and you're selfish, and you don't think about other people but yourself."
