The group will give what is expected to be their final performance during the 'X Factor' live final in London tonight (13.12.15), before going on hiatus and fans have taken to Twitter to share the hashtag and their hope that the band will return.
While some people have speculated that the split will be permanent, One Direction - Niall Horan, Liam Payne, Harry Styles and Louis Tomlinson - have insisted they are simply taking a break after five gruelling years of touring since finding fame on 'The X Factor'.
And their famous pals seem to believe that they will be back, with Ellie Goulding recently saying: "I think they'll get back together at some point but they're just having a break because they've been doing it for so long and it must be taxing.
"I know how hard it is to be on tour for so long and to be performing that much so I think it's a welcome break for them."
One Direction are not the only famous faces set to perform on 'The X Factor' final, with Coldplay and Adele also slated to take to the stage.
