The 31-year-old reality TV star has admitted her famous relatives had to coax her to take a break after she spent almost four weeks worrying about the 35-year-old basketball player following his collapse in Las Vegas last month.

Speaking to the San Diego Union Tribune newspaper, she said: "Just recently I've been in the hospital for almost three-and-a-half weeks straight.

"And finally everyone was saying, 'Khloé, you have to get out of the hospital and just for an hour, go to the gym and do something for you. Nothing's going to happen to Lamar."

The 'Keeping Up with the Kardashians' star, who split from Lamar in 2013 following four years of marriage, was plagued with "anxiety" when she left her ex-spouse for the first time but was soon put at ease by her stepsister Kendall Jenner.

She explained: "I had such anxiety going to the gym, but as soon as I left, and Kendall and I worked out with my trainer, I felt like 'Oh my god, I'm OK. I'm a human again!'

"I just felt so good. But for those three-and-a-half weeks, I didn't think about the gym because I was thinking about other things, and I don't beat myself up about it."

Meanwhile, Lamar is currently still in hospital in Los Angeles after he was found unconscious in a Nevada brothel following a four-day drugs and alcohol-fuelled binge.

The athlete is making good progress but he still has "a long long road ahead" after his organs started to shut down.
