Eva Longoria's new boyfriend is allegedly $4 million in debt.
Ernesto Arguello - who met the 'Desperate Housewives' actress through a reality show she produced - reportedly declared himself bankrupt last year, claiming that he had a seven-figure deficit and had only $5 in cash available.
According to a Chapter 7 bankruptcy filing obtained by National Enquirer magazine, the entrepreneur said his liabilities totalled $4.1 million, while his assets added up to just $1,555.
The alarming revelation has led to friends close to the 38-year-old beauty, who is reportedly worth $35 million, raising concerns about her budding romance.
A source said: "Eva needs to slow down and really discover what Ernesto is all about.
"We do know one thing, though - Eva will probably be picking up the cheque for a while."
Eva recently went public with her romance with Ernesto, 34, who she met through 'Ready for Love', which she produced for US TV channel NBC last year.
The matchmaking reality show attempted to find potential love connections for three eligible bachelors, including Ernesto.
The actress - who divorced ex-husband, basketball player Tony Parker, in January 2011 - revealed that she and the Miami-based businessman became friends on set and a romance soon blossomed.
She said: "I think that's why our relationship is so special - we truly started as friends."
