Eva Amurri Martino's breasts "hurt" from feeding her newborn daughter.
The 29 year old actress gave birth to her daughter Marlowe Mae, her first child with husband Kyle Martino, in August and made the decision to feed the tot naturally instead of using formula.
Although she is glad she made the decision not to bottle feed, Eva, the daughter of Oscar winner Susan Sarandon, admits nursing Marlowe is a painful experience.
Eva told PEOPLE: "I was really lucky. She latched right away and she's a voracious eater ... It can actually be a challenge because she eats a little too fast and I have to slow her down. But I don't care what people say and no matter what, it hurts. It's not comfortable. It has been teaching me to really be much more gentle with myself and I just have to expect that each day is a new day and it takes a while to get used to."
'That's My Boy' star Eva also admits she found the first couple of weeks of motherhood pretty tough and relied on her mother Susan, 67, for support and for meals.
She said: "The first week was really intense. I was not expecting how hard it was. I didn't leave my bedroom, let alone go downstairs. My mom would bring stuff up for me to eat and I really just stayed in bed with Marlowe nursing."
