To many, Emma Raducanu is a hero. With that though, comes a lot of pressure to go bigger and better than ever before. So, when Raducanu was crowned the winner of the US Open 2021, she admits that many people thought she should then go on to win ‘every tournament she ever plays in’ afterwards. Of course, this isn’t realistic.

Since that championship, Raducanu has had both wins and losses against other women in the sport of tennis. As a 19-year-old with likely many more years to go in her career, that’s surely to be expected.

Raducanu has opened up about all of the pressure she has faced in her career to-date, as well as trying to let go of trying to reach levels of 'perfection', admitting that it's unrealistic to think she would never slip or fall.

Teaming up with Nike, we watch her in the film What Are You Working On? as she revisits her home town of Bromley, as well as some of the activities she used to enjoy in younger years, including, perhaps surprisingly, motorsport!

Footage of her playing on the court both in the modern day is also included, spliced together with recordings that were taken of her in some of her youngest years, perfecting her craft.

Raducanu's most recent match saw her lose 4-3 against Viktorija Golubic in the Round of 32 at the Nottingham Open. It came after defeat in the second round of the French Open. We’re looking forward to seeing just how she does at Wimbledon this summer, with the home crowd by her side.

Emma Raducanu: She doesn't need to be perfect to be a role model in 2022
