Emma Corrin's brother predicted she would get 'The Crown' role, two years before she was cast.
The 25-year-old actress - who plays Princess Diana in the Netflix show - has revealed one of her brothers suggested she should take on the role as the late Princess, years before she got the call.
Speaking to Variety for their iHeart podcast The Big Ticket, she said of the family conversation: "I remember being on holiday with my family when the second season of The Crown had come out and I remember them joking about who was going to play Princess Diana.
"One of my brothers was like, 'You should play Princess Diana.' I was at university at that time and I was like, 'In my wildest dreams.' It's very strange to think back on those kind of moments now."
Meanwhile, Emma previously admitted she was "quite scared" to play Diana.
She said: "Initially I was very daunted, very much listened to the noise, heard all the voices, and got quickly frustrated and quite scared about it and thought, 'This isn't actually giving me anything to work with. So then I very much had to put blinkers on and just do my own thing."
However, Emma managed to channel her nerves into the part and finally realised that she was just playing a version of the Princess and didn't have to be a carbon copy of the real royal.
She added: "I realised this is a character that I'm playing.
"This is 'The Crown's version of Diana. I can bring a lot of what I want to do with this part. Everything that resonates with me. That really changed it for me. It doesn't remove the pressure and the responsibility that I feel, but it made it more manageable to do the role."
