Kate Hudson loves embarrassing her son.
The 37-year-old actress - who has 12-year-old Ryder with ex-husband Chris Robinson and four-year-old Bingham with former fiance Matt Bellamy - can already see the funny side of her oldest child's impending teenage years because she can poke fun at his "hormonal moods".
Speaking in a promotional clip for this week's episode of 'Chelsea', she told host Chelsea Handler: "I'm loving the preteen [experience].
"His hormonal moods are so fun for me, because it makes for so much comedy!"
"I tried to hold Ryder's hand the other day in public, and he was like, 'Mom, please don't'. And then I just grabbed his hand, like, 'I'm gonna grab your hand!' And it became funny."
And Mayim Bialik, who was also a guest on the Netflix show, can relate to the 'Almost Famous' star's relationship with Ryder as she is going through similar experiences with her own oldest son, 10-year-old Miles.
The 40-year-old star - who also has Fred, seven, with ex-husband Michael Stone - said: "He's got, like, a little swagger to him.
"He wants to cuddle me at home, but not in public. He doesn't know me in public, even though I'm the person who gives him literally everything he needs."
But the 'Big Bang Theory' actress, who also holds a PhD in neuroscience, understands the reasons behind her son's responses.
She said: "I read this study that there's this pheromone that moms give off that is very yucky to boys when they hit about 10.
"So I told him, because I wanted him to feel OK about the separation he's trying to establish between us.
"He's like, 'Mom, that is totally happening.' "
Alongside Kate and Mayim, Malin Akerman is also a guest on 'Chelsea', which broadcasts on Wednesday (01.06.16).
