Sir Elton John's children work around the house to earn their pocket money.
The 68-year-old singer and his husband David Furnish - who are parents to five-year-old Zachary and three-year-old Elijah - may lead an extravagant lifestyle but the music legend revealed he makes his kids carry out chores in exchange for cash and hopes they will learn the value of money.
He explained: "I came from a council house and a working class background and I earned my money and I earned it with very hard work and I loved it.
"And I want them to work for their money. They both have pocket money, but they have to work in the house for it and they have to work in the garden."
Sir Elton once famously parted with £293,000 for flowers over a 20 month period in the mid-90s because he likes "spending" his hard-earned money.
But he won't spoil his little ones - who were born via surrogate - and if they want to flash the cash when they are eventually teenagers, they will have to source the funds themselves.
During an interview with BBC Radio 6 Music, the 'Your Song' hitmaker continued: "They are spoilt enough living the way they do... If they want a new car, they'll have to pay for it, and they're going to have the second hand car to star with - that's what I had. They have to have a sence of value.
"A silver spoon is no good to anybody and the boys are in a difficult position as sons of someone very famous."
