Ellie Goulding has taken up the clarinet again.
The 29-year-old singer took to Instagram on Monday night (28.11.16) to share a snap of herself holding a new woodwind instrument which she had played for "five years" before learning the guitar, and told her followers she stopped playing it because she "struggled ever affording a good one".
She captioned the photo: "I played clarinet for 5 or so years before I taught myself guitar (and the obsession began) and had a struggle ever affording a good one ... this brand new one arrived today to get back on it and it was true joy/nostalgia x (sic)"
It is unknown whether the 'Still Falling For You' hitmaker plans on incorporating the instrument into her music or if she will simply take it up as a hobby, but the blonde beauty will have an opportunity to show off her skills when she takes to the stage at this year's Capital Jingle Bell Ball as it was announced earlier this month she would be joining the line-up.
The show - which takes place on December 4 at the O2 Arena in London - could be the last time fans of the 'Love Me Like You Do' musician will be able to see her in action for a while, as she recently stated she is planning on taking a break from music.
She said: "I'm still going to be writing, but it's been so overwhelming the past few years that it's time to go away for a little bit and be out of the limelight.
"It's really a commitment, being on the road; you almost put everything on hold - seeing family, seeing friends. I've missed so many weddings and births.
"It will be nice to wake up and know I don't have anything to do."
