24 year old Elizabeth Olsen is set to plays Scarlet Witch in the upcoming superhero movie 'The Avengers: Age of Ultron'. Although she admits she's never read comics, she insists she had heard of her alter-ego before she got the role.
She told Total Film magazine: "I'm not much of a comic book person. I like comic book movies but my brother [Trent, a screenwriter] is the comic book guy. If I'm having a meeting, I ask my brother to tell me about it. But of course I'd seen 'The Avengers'! I've seen all the Marvel movies. I love those movies. Marvel keep the fantastical qualities but create something as realistic as they can make for this world. There's something genuinely broken. Everyone has their Achilles' heel."
The star admits she doesn't know how she got role in the Marvel movie, but doesn't think, Joss Whedon, hired her to wear racy outfits like the ones in the comic.
She explained: "I don't know how I got the job, but now I have it, and we're creating it. It's been a really fun process. We're being aware of the comic books but also doing our own thing. We've done some costume stuff. My favourite piece is my secrecy cloak that prevents anyone from seeing what I'm wearing. There's a hood and a robe. It protects the image. I don't think Joss ever would have hired me, honestly, if he wanted me to wear those (racy) outfits. I am not a professional athlete, nor am I a model. Wearing those costumes wouldn't be fun for anyone who wasn't those things. He already had a different idea."
