Elizabeth Hurley has compared being in lockdown to an episode of 'The Waltons'.
The 54-year-old actress spent 16 weeks at her lavish Herefordshire estate with eight others, including her son Damian, 18, mother Angela, 80, older sister Kate, and various friends, and she admitted their experience wouldn't have been out of place on the wholesome TV show, which ran from 1971 to 1981 and followed a close family's war-time escapades on a Virginia mountain.
Speaking to guest host Christine Lampard on 'Lorraine', she said: "It was like 'The Waltons'! We had nine of us, but I was the only one who left in 16 weeks to do a brief raid on the shops'.
"We all stayed safe and then we had to just get on, find a way to make it work."
The 'Royals' star explained that everyone helped out on the estate, rather than passing the time in front of the television.
She continued: "There was manual labour, not allowed TV until 6PM. We were all outside - we had beautiful weather in the UK - sweeping up, clipping, attacking things with a chainsaw, making the outside beautiful, growing veg...
"We all got healthier. We ate quite a lot but there was the manual labour!"
But it wasn't always a happy time for the group as they were also "scared" about the vulnerable among them falling ill with coronavirus.
She said: "We were very nervous about health, there were elderly women and a friend with low immunity who had to be kept safe. We were just nervous and scared whole time."
Elizabeth went on to praise her son - whose biological father, Steve Bing, took his own life in June - for how well he'd coped.
She said: "He was great during lockdown, he had his 18th birthday then... everyone in his school year didn't get to say goodbye to anyone or do their exams.
"I'm really proud of him during lockdown, and yes he did help quite a bit!"
