Eddie Redmayne plans to be a "hands-on" dad.
The 'Danish Girl' actor is excited about the impending of his and wife Hannah Bagshawe's first child, though he admits he is also feeling a little bit scared of the big change and responsibility.
He said: "It's our first child, so obviously there's a mixture of emotions.
"Joy, excitement and a bit of fear. I can't wait. I'll be a hands-on dad."
And the 'Theory of Everything' star - who married Hannah in 2014 - admits becoming a dad will cap off an "amazing" period in his life.
He said: "Having a baby is the perfect ending to what's been an amazing year.
"I still pinch myself - every actor thinks about living the Hollywood dream and making it over here is incredible.
"I'll always stay grounded and I don't take anything for granted."
For his next movie role, Eddie, 34, is hoping to work in a new place.
He told Closer magazine: "I'm desperate to travel and I keep saying to my wife, 'Can we go abroad to work?'
"I've just finished a film based in New York and we shot it all in Watford.
"The majority of the 'Danish Girl' was shot in Hertfordshire. We'll see."
