Eddie Redmayne says he's the "least cool" person in the world.
The 34-year-old actor has said he doesn't think his four-month-old daughter Iris - whom he shares with his wife Hannah Bagshawe - will find him "cool" when she's older, despite his starring role in as Newt Scamander the 'Harry Potter' spin-off series 'Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them'.
Appearing on 'The Late Show with Stephen Colbert' on Monday night (14.11.16), Eddie was told by the 52-year-old show host: "[Iris] will never know a world in which you are not in the wizarding world of 'Harry Potter'. Does your wife have any chance of being as cool as you are to your child?"
Eddie then replied: "I mean [my wife] is pretty wizard-like in her tolerance of me. No, but she's pretty cool. I've spent most of my life trying to be cool and I'm the least cool human being in the world, so she definitely wins that one."
Meanwhile, Stephen also asked the star what Newt's "Patronus" - the wizarding term for the animal a person has the deepest affinity with - would be.
Eddie said: "My character does have a Patronus. On Pottermore, the website, J.K. Rowling's website, there is this new Patronus finder. They basically ask you all these questions, and there's all these algorithms that then choose what your Patronus is.
"I did it once, and I came out as a basset hound. Which I was really excited about! It's not the most dangerous nor threatening, but kind of doe-y eyed and I thought it was quite sweet.
"Anyway, they said 'Do it again', as if they wanted Newt to have a more hardcore Patronus. And because of the algorithms it's physically impossible to get same... Statistically impossible to get the same twice, but I was a basset hound twice."
