Blue star Duncan James has moved in with his mum.
The 42-year-old singer was worried about his mother Alison Inglis being on her own during the UK’s latest COVID-19 lockdown because the world is so “scary” at the moment and he hasn't spent as much time with her since he was a child.
He said: “It’s a very different life we’re living in now and it’s scary when we listen to the news and we’re freaked out by everything on a day-to-day basis.
“I moved in with my mother because I didn’t want her to be on her own through the third lockdown.
“So we have been spending the most time together since I was a child.”
The pandemic has meant Duncan spent several months away from his Brazilian partner Rodrigo Reis, but he was delighted they got to have Christmas together and he thinks the fact his boyfriend had to quarantine on arrival to the UK only made things better.
He said: “We got to see each other for Christmas, which was lovely.
“Before we went into this new lockdown, he came over for a few weeks, so we just stayed in the house for the whole time because he had to quarantine.
“But it meant we got to spend real quality time together.
“I think it’s a real test of our relationship.
“Me and Rodrigo got on really well and it just cemented things, which we needed.”
And the former ‘Hollyoaks’ star was pleased he got to spend several weeks in summer with his 15-year-old daughter Tianie-Finn.
In an interview with OK! magazine, he said: “I’ve managed to see my little girl. It’s been lovely.
“Last year, in the simmer, she came to live with me for six weeks.
“I got to have all this time with her, which was so wonderful because she’s at boarding school and normally I see her once or twice a month for one day.
“It was really nice to get time to bond for some real daddy-daughter time.”
