The 28-year-old singer - who is openly bisexual - will front the upcoming special show this Friday (09.10.20) alongside Tan France, which will recognise coming out stories, as well as support those who may be currently coming out, as well as those who may not yet be able to share their gender identity or sexual orientation.

Coming Out Day will be recognised on Sunday (11.10.20), and marks the anniversary of the National March on Washington for Lesbian and Gay Rights, which first took place on October 14, 1979, whilst the second march occurred on October 11, 1987.

In Facebook Watch’s special stream, Demi and Tan will honour the 32-year-long tradition of supporting individuals who identify as LGBTQ, and celebrate their journey of coming out.

The pair will be joined by LGBTQ activists, allies, entertainers, and others from around the world as they share powerful and candid testimonials about their coming out journeys, and providing inspiration and support.

Other celebrities set to make an appearance on the show include Angelica Ross, Law Roach, Nico Tortorella, Ruby Rose, Leiomy Maldonado, Trixie Mattel and Tyler Oakley.

Rob Eric, Scout Productions’ chief creative officer and executive producer of Coming Out 2020, said in a statement: “Everyone in the LGBTQIA community has a different experience when it comes to their coming out journey. It’s that uniqueness that bonds us as a community and Scout Productions is honoured to work with Facebook to celebrate Coming Out Day with everyone in the community no matter where you are on your path to sharing your gender identity and sexual orientation. We are even more excited to have Demi and Tan shepherd the stories of those who are willing to share them.”

Meanwhile, Demi - who recently ended her engagement to Max Ehrich - said earlier this year she’s “still figuring” her sexuality out.

The ‘Anyone’ singer said: "I’m still figuring [my sexuality] out. I didn’t officially tell my parents that I saw myself ending up possibly with a woman until 2017. It was actually emotional, but really beautiful. After everything was done, I was like shaking and crying. I just felt overwhelmed. I have such incredible parents. They were so supportive."
