Demi Lovato caused outrage after sharing a video of her mother joking about the Zika virus.
The 23-year-old singer posted a clip on Snapchat showing her mother Dianna Hart making an ill-advised quip about the disease, which has spread through South America and can cause birth defects in babies.
Referring to the Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Dianna can be heard saying in the video: "Everybody down in Rio gonna get the Zika virus."
The clip caused outrage and it wasn't long before #DemiLovatoIsOverParty was trending worldwide on Twitter.
Meanwhile, Kim Kardashian West recently revealed she was worried about catching the Zika virus on her trip to Cuba.
The 35-year-old star - who has three-year-old daughter North and eight-month-old son Saint with husband Kanye West - became concerned about the disease during a family holiday in May, and questioned whether they could take a test when they got back to the US.
A worried Kim asked her sister Kourtney Kardashian about the check while the pair were speeding along in Havana in a vintage hot pink convertible with her assistant Stephanie.
In a recent 'Keeping Up With the Kardashians' episode, Kim asked: "I wonder if there's like a test we can get for Zika? Like when we get back home to clear everyone's heads."
Zika virus is mainly spread by mosquitoes and is a mild infection which isn't harmful to most people.
But it can be more serious for pregnant women and is thought to be the cause of birth defects in some cases.
There have been outbreaks of Zika reported in the Pacific region, South America, Central America and the Caribbean.
Cuba is located in the northern Caribbean, hence Kim's concerns.
