Demi Lovato is "disgusted" at having her privacy invaded.

The 'Heart Attack' singer went on a Twitter rant this morning (12.07.13) accusing the media of having a complete lack of respect for her personal life and revealed she feels betrayed after being "open and honest".

She wrote in a series of tweets which have now been deleted: "Completely and utterly disgusted at the absolute lack of any privacy or respect whatsoever in this world today. None. So disappointed.

"Artists don't owe anyone ANYTHING. We choose to be open and honest in our music with others... Yet this is how we are thanked? (sic)"

The 20-year-old star went on to say she'd give up all her fortune and success if it meant she could get her privacy back.

She added: "The entitlement that society has today over the lives of artists today is absolutely PATHETIC.

"I don't do this for money. In fact, I'd give back all the money in the world I've ever made if I could buy my privacy back. (sic)"

While it is not known what sent Demi into a rage, 'The X Factor' USA judge is currently grieving for the loss of her estranged father Patrick Lovato in June and her difficult relationship with him has been the subject of much speculation.

Demi has partnered with charity Cast Recovery to help those with mental illnesses following her father's long battle with mental health issues.

She previously penned a track called 'For the Love of a Daughter' which hinted at his struggle with alcohol addiction, and revealed she had "cut off all connection" with her father because it was too painful.
