Brian Cox wants to work until he "drops".
The 77-year-old star is unsure how he can "follow" his award-winning turn as Logan Roy in 'Succession' but is determined to keep acting until he either dies or degenerative brain condition dementia "gets" him.
Piers Morgan asked him on his Talk TV Show: "How do you follow something like 'Succession'? Could you imagine retiring or not?"
Brian replied: "Christ knows! I mean you know, how do I follow that? But no never, I don't believe in that. I will go on until I drop.
"You sort of wind down slowly and eventually, dementia will get me! Then it will be nice to say, 'Well I can't do it anymore'.
"I am hoping I can keep dementia at bay for a bit longer! I mean look at me I'm not old, I am a spring chicken, and I look quite well for my age. I think I look amazing for my age."
Brian will always be "incredibly proud" of his work on the show and admitted he always knew he'd be killed off at some point.
He said: "Well my honest feeling is I am incredibly proud to be part of such an extraordinary show and really groundbreaking in many ways.
"It is brilliantly written who knows how to edge, get that sense of edge and I trusted them completely.
"You get all kinds of things, but it is called Succession and you know he has to go at some time."
The Scottish star was largely raised by his older sisters due to his mother's mental health issues and his father dying of cancer when he was young, and he admitted he has "always" had death on his mind.
Noting one of his siblings passed away earlier this year, he said: "‘I’ve always thought about dying.
"I lost my father when I was eight. Death was always omnipresent in my life."
Logan's death shocked viewers when it aired in the third episode of season three of the show, and Brian found his alter ego's passing "quite funny" because most of his scenes were filmed by a body double.
He said: "I was never there… that was someone else lying on that plane."
But he admitted he still hasn't watched the episode in question because "the idea of seeing myself dying on a plane isn’t my idea of fun."
