The comedian is reportedly pulling out all the stops to seduce the former 'Made In Chelsea' star - who left the show in 2013 - after being granted a divorce from his wife of five years Lara Stone last month.
A source said: "It's a slow-burner but David has made his feelings clear. He recently sent her a bunch of white roses and a card signed 'DW'."
The 44-year-old TV star split from model Lara, with whom he has two-year-old son Alfred, back in March citing her "unreasonable behaviour" for the decision.
But he is now believed to have hit it off with Ashley - who has previously dated former 'Xtra Factor' presenter Matt Richardson and bisexual reality star Ollie Locke - after being introduced by mutual friends earlier this year.
And they recently partied together at a star-studded Halloween bash thrown by Jonathan Ross.
The 27-year-old blonde beauty - who bares a noticeable resemblance to David's ex - is 16 years younger than the 'Britain's Got Talent' judge but they are said to be "very flirty" with each other.
The source told the Sunday Mirror newspaper: "They hang out in a group with other people and she has been to his house with other friends.
"They are both very flirty and it's clear there's a huge attraction there but David is quite cautious about entering into another relationship."
