David Duchovny is happily single.
The 54-year-old actor, who divorced Téa Leoni last year following their split in 2011, says he isn't interested in finding love again at the moment because he is focused on their children, West, 16, and Miller, 12, as well as his career.
The 'X-Files' star said: "I want to do things as good as I can; I want to have as much fun and make it as meaningful as I can. And then whatever happens with that, that's just what happens. I'm just happy being where I am."
The 'Aquarius' star, who recently released a satirical novel, 'Holy Cow,' and a rock album, 'Hell or Highwater,' tries to make time for all his passions, but won't encourage his children to follow in his footsteps.
He explained: "They're not interested, and I wouldn't push them either way. I would tell them the truth: The odds are not good, but do what you want to do."
David is surprised his own acting career took off after he graduated from Princeton and Yale.
He told PEOPLE magazine: "I started out as a writer. And then I came out of graduate school and got into acting through trying to be a playwright. The fact that I've written a novel, to me, is less surprising than the fact that I'm an actor. I'm sure to other people it seems surprising, but to me it's like, what took me so long."
