Daniel Radcliffe says he wants his fans to stop comparing his current work to his role in the 'Harry Potter' films.

The 25-year-old actor is currently starring in romantic comedy 'What If', and despite its success, the actor is resigned to the fact the comparisons to his 'Harry Potter' films will never go away.

Speaking on 'The Chris Evans Breakfast Show' on BBC Radio 2, he said: "There is no one film that fully separates me, in the eyes of everyone else, from Harry Potter - that isn't going to happen."

Daniel starred in the titular role in the film adaptations of J.K. Rowling's novels for over a decade and he's confessed that rather than trying to disassociate himself from the franchise, he's instead trying to work on different kinds of projects now.

He explained: "It's about building up as diverse and interesting a body of work as I can."

The heartthrob - who is currently dating actress Erin Darke - also admitted that with every new film he releases, comes a comment about it being "the next step away from Harry Potter".

He added: "I'm looking forward to the day where I can release a film and it not be talked about in that way."
