Daniel Radcliffe loved being a "theatre boyfriend".
The 26-year-old actor took a break from working to support girlfriend Erin Darke while she rehearsed for stage production 'The Spoils' and the experience has finally taught him the value of having a holiday.
He said: "I was a theatre boyfriend for a month. I just went in, hung out for a bit, watched a bit of the show... it was lovely.
"I used to not enjoy time off. It made me feel very uncomfortable and I used to not be good at dealing with it. Now I have learned the value of just taking some time."
And the 'Victor Frankenstein' star realised how silly his anti-holiday stance was during his recent first beach vacation to Antigua.
He said: "I took a holiday and I was like, 'S**t, why haven't I been doing more of this? It's great.'
"I went on my first beach holiday to Antigua. We'd go in the ocean for a bit, then read and watch movies, and eat great food and not have to do anything.
"I really had a moment of, 'This is the best, why have I been resisting this?' "
Despite his years of success, Daniel resists frequenting upmarket restaurants on a regular basis as it would then stop him ever having somewhere to go for a "treat".
He explained to Britain's Marie Claire magazine: "You can have too much of a good thing. If you had Nobu every day, where would you go for a treat?"
