Daniel Radcliffe was unable to walk the red carpet at the Mexican premiere of 'What If' because of an unexpectedly large crowd.
The 25-year-old actor had been due to appear at the event yesterday (31.08.14) but Mexico City's civil protection agency ordered distributor Diamond Films Mexico to suspend the screening - which was due to take place at a local shopping mall - after an unexpectedly large number of fans arrived early at the venue in the hope of catching a glimpse of their idol.
Diamond Films said: "We appreciate the response and enthusiasm for this event. Sorry, but this decision is out of our control."
The premiere for the movie - which is directed by Michael Dowse and also stars Zoe Kazan - still went ahead, but without the cast in attendance.
Daniel recently admitted he loved gorging on calorific 'Fool's Gold' sandwiches - which are made up of a whole loaf of bread, a jar of jam, a jar of peanut butter, bacon rashers and loads of butter - while filming 'What If'.
He said: "If you can get a job where people will pay you to eat Fool's Gold sandwiches, take it.
"Zoe hated it, but she grew up here and I grew up in England. In LA you're all very healthy here, but I am not. I am 70 per cent Fool's Gold. I enjoyed it a lot."
