The 23-year-old actress, who plays Rey in the upcoming blockbuster, subconsciously knew she would land the coveted part even though her first few meetings with producers didn't go according to plan.

The British beauty, who appears one of two covers of the latest cover of The Hollywood Reporter in celebration of its 22nd annual Next Gen 2015 list, told the magazine: "I emailed my agent that I have this really weird feeling, I really feel like I need to audition... My first few auditions really didn't feel good, but my last audition suddenly felt like something clicked."

Meanwhile, Daisy's co-star John Boyega, who is the publication's other cover star, admits he took six Lightsabers from the set of the film to give to his friends.

The 23-year-old actor added: "There is one that is open to just swing around a few seconds when I walk around the house."

Other stars on the magazine's Next Gen list of under 35's to watch in Hollywood include Tom Holland, who is set to play Spider-Man in the next film, 'Mr Robot' actor Rami Malek, UFC's Ronda Rousey and 'Straight Outta Compton' star Jason Mitchell.
