The 56-year-old singer is included on the State of California Franchise Tax Board’s Top 500 delinquent taxpayers list, which is published every two years.

According to the list, she owes the government as much as $357,260.94.

She was hit with a lien from the Inland and Revenue Service for $568,674.62 for failing to pay taxes in 2016, The Blast reports.

Other big-name stars have also made the list, including 'Empire' actor Terrance Howard - who owes $295,850.84 - and action movie veteran Steven Seagal ($216,361.19).

'Kill Bill' star Michael Madsen is higher up the list, as he reportedly owes $509,029.92.

Meanwhile, Courtney recently apologised for lashing out at both Dave Grohl and Trent Reznor.

She slammed the Foo Fighters frontman over a royalties agreement she made with the surviving members of Nirvana following the suicide of her husband Kurt Cobain.

Courtney accused the Nine Inch Nails singer of "systemic abuse", but after deleting her Instagram post about the issue, she backtracked and admitted she was "insensitive and wrong" in lashing out.

She wrote: "I need to apologize for my recent post. It was insensitive and it was wrong. No matter how I feel, there are real people behind my words and I need to learn to be more responsible with my words. I am truly sorry for those I’ve hurt and I will do better. (sic)"

In the original post, Courtney opened up about the "mega aggressions" she's encountered over the years and insisted she was tired of "being scapegoated" by "clowns" when the treatment she's experienced and witnessed has been ignored.

The singer hit out at Dave and Krist Novoselic over an agreement she signed while "broken" after her spouse's death.

She then turned her attention to Trent, who she branded a "creep". Neither Trent nor Dave responded to the claims.
