Courtney Love says Katy Perry "bores the s**t" out of her.

The former Hole rocker blasted the 'Roar' hitmaker, branding her bland, while coming to the defence of Miley Cyrus and her controversial twerking performance at the MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs) last month.

The 49-year-old singer was performing to an intimate crowd at the Dream Downtown hotel in New York City, where she told the crowd: "I liked Miley, frankly. I'm gonna be honest, Katy Perry bores the s**t out of me. She's a nice girl, she just really bores me. You know, that hillbilly Miley Cyrus is sort of punk in a weird sex way."

The 49-year-old star, who was married to late Nirvana frontman Kurt Cobain, later reiterated her remarks about Katy, 28, and praised 'We Can't Stop' Miley for embracing her sexuality.

She told the New York Post newspaper: "[Katy] bores me. [Miley] was at least kind of punk rock, you know? It was openly sexual ... like dark and hillbilly and f***ed up."

Miley, 20, received backlash after provocatively touching herself with a foam finger and gyrating against 'Blurred Lines' hitmaker Robin Thicke's crotch at the VMAs.

Acid-tongued Courtney's jibes didn't stop there, however, as she also took aim at Robin, 36, who is the son of 'Growing Pains' actor Alan Thicke.

She quipped: "Can someone inform me who Alan Thicke's son is? Like what? Wasn't he on 'Charles in Charge?' That's like Jared Leto trying to convince me he's a rock star."
