Coleen Nolan wants to be a fit grandmother.
The 'Loose Women' panellist is set to welcome her first grandchild - a baby girl - into the world in the next few days and is desperate to shrink her waistline and get healthy over the next few months so she has more energy and strength to play with the little one when she's a bit older.
She explained: "Being about to become a nan has made me realise how much I want to be healthy for my children and grandchildren. At a size 16, I have too many aches and pains, take too many painkillers. I worry about the arthritis that runs in my family. I want to be able to run around with my granddaughter and spend a long life with her."
The brunette beauty, 50 - who has children Shane Jr., 27, Jake, 23, Ciara, 14 - is planning to ditch the fatty takeaways, stock up on more fruit and veg, and get moving more.
Writing in an opinion piece for the Daily Mirror newspaper, she said: "This week I'm off to the doctors for a check-up, and then I'll cut out the takeaways, up the veg and get on the cross trainer in my living room.
"There's no grand plan, I'm keeping it simple. But the aim is to get fit. If I lose a few dress sizes, that's a bonus. After all, the newest Nolan won't care whether I'm a size 14 or a size 10 - or what I look like at 6am. As long as I can give her a piggy back when she's sleepy, she'll be happy. And so will I."
