Chris Martin thinks Coldplay fans get a lot of "s**t" for liking his band.
The 39-year-old singer praised those who had travelled to Wembley Stadium in North London for their gig on Saturday (18.06.16), thanking them for "everything you went through to get here", including being mocked for their musical tastes.
Speaking after their final song, 'Up & Up', he said: "We want to thank you for everything you went through to get here.
"All the travel, and all the s**t you get for liking Coldplay..."
Earlier in the evening, the 'Adventure of a Lifetime' band had paid tribute to a number of deceased icons.
They played a snippet of 'Raspberry Beret' by Prince - who died in April - which was accompanied by a video paying homage to boxing legend Muhammad Ali, who passed away last month after a long battle with Parkinson's Disease.
They also covered 'Heroes' by David Bowie, who lost his battle with cancer in January.
The covers were interspersed with classic hits including 'Yellow', 'Fix You', and 'Viva La Vida', with the music accompanied by a stunning visual display thanks to the sound-responding light-up wrist devices given to each fan as they entered the stadium.
Chris was his usual energetic self on stage, running between the main stage and the smaller secondary stage, which was connected by a catwalk and saw the band perform three songs there, 'Always in My Head', 'Princess of China' - with Rihanna's vocals coming via a video - and 'Everglow'.
After the main set ended with 'Adventure of a Lifetime', the band then reappeared on a small third stage at the back of the vast stadium, where they performed 'Don't Panic' and 'Green Eyes', before Will Champion, Johnny Buckland and Guy Berryman left their frontman alone for a third song.
Chris dedicated his cover of Johnny Cash's 'Ring of Fire' to his father, who was in the audience for the show.
He said: "My dad is here tonight and this is one of the first things he showed me how to play."
Coldplay perform their fourth show at the London venue on Sunday (19.06.16) night.
