A Spanish police spokeswoman confirmed today (02.08.15) that Cilla - real name Priscilla White - is believed to have died of "natural causes", although they are "still awaiting autopsy results".

She said: "I can confirm the death of British national Priscilla White, aged 72. We are still awaiting autopsy results but everything at this stage is pointing towards her death being the result of natural causes."

At this time the cause of her death remains unknown.

Cilla had over 50 years in showbusiness, had two number one singles, including 'Anyone Who Had A Heart' and was championed by fellow Liverpudlian's The Beatles.

She leaves three sons, Robert, Ben and Jack, as well as two grandchildren behind.

Cilla was most known for pioneering TV shows 'Cilla', 'Blind Date' and Surprise Surprise' and leaves behind her legacy in British television.

Just last year Cilla received an outstanding contribution prize at the bafta Television Awards.

Speaking about the award she told the Mirror newspaper: "I am thrilled to be honoured with this award - I am totally delighted. I've been very fortunate to have a long and full career in television and this means the world to me."
