Ciara's former fiancé insists he never cheated on her.
The 29-year-old singer split from Future, with whom she has 13-month-old son Future Jr., in December after trying to mend their relationship in August following rumours he cheated on her with his stylist while on tour, but the rapper has claimed he ended their romance because they simply "grew apart."
The 31-year-old star, whose real name is Nayvadius DeMun Wilburn, said: "A lot of people said, 'Man, he cheated'...But our relationship had nothing to do with cheating. We grew apart. When you're a man, you want to make decisions for your family, and sometimes the lady doesn't see what you see... I called [the engagement] off way before any cheating rumours came out. The engagement was already off."
Asked if it was a mutual decision, he added: "I said it wasn't going to work. She wasn't too mad because I explained it to her."
The 'I Won' hitmaker is "super happy" she is dating Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson, who recently revealed they are abstaining from having sex.
Asked if he and the 'Goodies' hitmaker also attempted to wait, Future told HuffPost Live: "God told me something else. He ain't tell me to wait. I guarantee you that. We prayed afterwards though. After we did it, we prayed. That's a true story."
It seems Ciara is unhappy with her ex-partner's comments, as she recently wrote on Twitter: "Some Person Is So Dishonest and Ignorant That They Don't Deserve A Response."
