Chris Pine has adopted a dog from an animal shelter.
The 36-year-old actor dropped by the North Central Shelter in Los Angeles on Wednesday (05.10.16) to pick up the adorable pit bull, and the Instagram account Home Dog LA subsequently took to the photo-sharing website to post a picture of the 'Star Trek Beyond' star and his new pooch.
The caption read: "Super handsome guys adopt dogs too! And sweet Pit Bulls at that.#chrispine came to @northcentralshelter to find his new best friend and littleWednesday Weld won the lottery. Happy Trails, guys! And thank you for adopting from your local shelter.#adoptdontshop #shelterdogs #pitbull#blackdog #love (sic)"
The news of the star adopting the four-legged friend comes after he recently splashed the cash on around £5,000 worth of champagne on a night out in London. With his hectic filming schedule, the 'Hell or High Water' actor might just have to give up the party lifestyle to find time to take care of his new pet.
A source said previously: "Chris got to Cirque Le Soir around midnight and all hell broke loose.
"The venue had to call in extra security because girls were going crazy to get to him.
"He had at least 15 girls around him. He loved the attention and was laughing and flirting with them all.
"By 2am he was spraying champagne over everyone and dancing on the tables."
But for Chris, the idea of leaving the parties behind and settling down is something he would like to do at "some point", and adopting his dog might be the start of that process.
When asked if he wanted a family, the star said previously: "Yeah, sure, I guess at some point. I'm really happy to be working right now and I get a lot of support and love from my family and friends."
