Chris Martin and Gwyneth Paltrow are trying "really hard" to make their relationship "better" for the sake of their children.
The couple called time on their 12-year marriage last year but, although the romantic side of their relationship crumbled down, they're determined to keep a strong bond to ensure their children Apple, 11, and Moses, nine, are unaffected.
Speaking on 'On Air with Ryan Seacrest,' Chris, 38, said: "Just because a romantic relationship ends doesn't mean that the other facets of your relationship have to end or, indeed, doesn't mean they can't get better."
The Coldplay frontman recently said, although the split was heartbreaking, he was able to figure out where he'd "gone wrong" in the past after he separated from the actress, 43.
He explained: "I went through some big changes... everyone knows about them. [I was able to] figure out where I've gone wrong in my way of looking at the world.
"A few years ago I was in a low place in my life and was feeling kind of down and confused. Some friends gave me a book and a poem and those two things started me off on this whole journey where I just feel so happy to be alive."
The hunky singer and the blonde beauty, who got married in 2003, revealed they were "consciously uncoupling" via a joint statement on her lifestyle website, Goop.
Since their split, Chris has been romantically linked to Jennifer Lawrence, 25, on numerous occasions but, most recently, rumoured to be dating Annabelle Wallis, 31.
And Gwyneth has also moved on as she recently officially announced her relationship with her TV producer boyfriend Brad Falchuk, 44, following months of speculation.
