Cheryl Cole has thanked fans for their support in the wake of her split from Tre Holloway.
The 'Fight for This Love' singer's team confirmed she has split from the professional dancer after 14 months last night (08.10.13), and she has been overwhelmed by the messages she has had on Twitter from fans, who she calls her "little soldiers".
She tweeted: "Sometimes I just sit here by myself wondering why you're all so kind and nice and caring towards me. It's gets overwhelming. #soldiers
"Thank you for everything I mean that from the [heart] I love you. You're amazing. (sic)"
Former Girls Aloud singer Cheryl, 30, blamed the fact she is based in the UK while Tre lives in Los Angeles for their split.
A source said: "Cheryl and Tre had a brilliant year together but the pressures of long-distance dating eventually became too much.
"Although Cheryl does a lot of work in America, often it is in New York, which is still a good six-hour flight away. The time difference, plus the hectic nature of Cheryl's working schedule, eventually took their toll.
"Cheryl realised that if they weren't going to live together, realistically, the relationship, just wasn't going to go anywhere."
