Charlie Sheen has given up drinking.
The 'Anger Management' actor, who was fired from 'Two and a Half Men' in 2010 because of his wild partying and erratic behaviour, is said to have embarked on a detox programme because the show is close to going into syndication so he knows it is important to stay focused because of the financial benefits of the sitcom continuing to thrive.
A source told RadarOnline.com: "It's all about dollar signs for Charlie. He knows that if he can keep himself together and keep 'Anger Management' going strong, it will pay off big time. So for the last two weeks he's completely stopped drinking and has been detoxing. He's taking it really seriously!"
The 48 year old star's fiancée, Brett Rossi, is said to be instrumental in his decision to get "healthy", and she has also taken control of his finances.
The source said: "Brett is cleaning house in more ways than one. She's been cracking down on the way Charlie frivolously spends his money and she's also keen to get him healthy. Charlie's not someone to usually be bossed around, but he's so head over heels for Brett and respects her and knows that she just has his best interests at heart."
It was recently claimed that Charlie had thrown 'Anger Management's filming schedule into chaos with a number of absences.
However, his spokesperson denied the claims, telling The Hollywood Reporter: "We did not shoot last week because another member of the cast was sick. Charlie is always ready, willing and able to shoot 'Anger Management' and looks forward to returning on Monday."
